Membership
Our Society currently has over ninety members and our headquarters are at the Whissendine Sports Club where we have our permanent tracksite.
We have a raised track for 2 1/2'', 3 1/2'' and 5'' gauge locomotives and a ground level track for 5'' and
7 1/4''locomotiveson our landscaped site.
The Society also has a portable track which we take to fetes, galas and open days. We also support events for charity.
Many of our members who own miniature traction engines and railway locomotives visit other Society's tracks and traction engine rallies during the summer months.
The Society's Annual Miniature Steam Rally is held on the first full weekend in June and attracts well over a hundred miniature traction engines and railway locomotives every year. It is one of the biggest miniature steam rallies in the country.
Our Society also puts on a display of members' models and work in progress at Model Engineering Exhibitions up and down the country.
The Society meets on the second Monday of each month (except July & August) at the Whissendine Sports Club Clubhouse, and has steam ups at our tracksite on the third Sunday of each month. Our Meetings cover a wide range of interests from guest speakers, slide & film shows, work in progress, an auctions and the AGM.
